Alfred Rudolf

Alfred Rudolf ( March 5, 1877 in Solothurn - October 6, 1955 in Bern ) was a Swiss lawyer and politician.

Life

Rudolf, son of Rudolf Niklaus, graduated in Solothurn and then studied Jus in Bern, Leipzig and France.

In 1923 he received his Dr. iur. He was an examining magistrate in Biel , editor of the Bieler Tagblatt and co-founder of the young liberals of the city of Biel and city council. In 1912 he was elected the first full-time secretary of the Bernese FDP . From 1910 to 1914 he was the Bernese Grand Councilor for the city of Biel, from 1914 to 1916 for the city of Bern . From 1916 to 1928 he was government clerk in Bern and from 1928 to 1946 a member of the government and headed the education department.

Rudolf reorganized teacher training, the secondary schools and promoted the expansion of the university. He was a Wengian and a member of the Helvetia student association .

He was married to Ida Christians.
