Alfred Schröder

Alfred Schröder (born February 4, 1865 in Passau , † March 16, 1935 in Dillingen an der Donau ) was a German Catholic clergyman, church historian and art historian.

Life

After attending high school near St. Stephan , he studied in Dillingen and Munich until he was ordained a priest in 1887. In 1890 he became city ​​chaplain at St. Moritz (Augsburg) , in 1891 ordinariate archivist, and since 1898 as professor of history and art history at the Philosophical-Theological University in Dillingen called. He continued the description of the diocese of Augsburg begun by Antonius von Steichele . The map of the diocese created by him is well known. In 1933, Schröder signed the German professors' confession of Adolf Hitler .
