Alfred Schreiner

Alfred Schreiner (born December 16, 1954 ) is an Austrian trade unionist and politician ( SPÖ ). From 2000 to 2017 he was President of the Chamber for Workers and Salaried Employees for Burgenland. Most recently he was elected to office on May 19, 2014 for the fourth time in a row by the General Assembly of the Burgenland AK.

Life

The trained locksmith was ÖGB youth secretary, state secretary of the textile, clothing and leather union and state secretary of the ÖGB state executive Burgenland. From 1989 Alfred Schreiner was a member of the chamber council and board member of AK Burgenland. He was elected President for the first time in May 2000, followed by Gerhard Michalitsch in this role in 2017. From 1990 to 1991, Schreiner was mayor of the then merged municipality of Hirm - Antau . From 1996 to 2000 he was a member of the Burgenland state parliament as a member of the SPÖ.
