Alfred Warnes

Alfred Warnes (* 1936 in Korneuburg ) is an Austrian writer .

Life

Alfred Warnes began to write at the age of 16/17 and later studied law. He embarked on a full-time administrative career and was a legal assistant for the City of Vienna from 1959 to 1997. He lives in Kaltenleutzüge in Lower Austria.

In 1955 he published his first poetry and prose texts in the magazine "neue wege", and in 1967 the volume of poems "The Uneven Teeth" was published, which was followed by several other books of poetry. The literary critic David Axmann once described Warnes' poetry as "aphorisms for critical observation of life".

Warnes was chairman of the Austrian Writers' Association and editor of the magazine Literarisches Österreich . He writes poetry, prose and essays and published, among other things, in the Wiener Zeitung .
