Alfredo De Angelis
Alfredo De Angelis (born November 2, 1910 in Adrogué , Province of Buenos Aires , † March 31, 1992 in Buenos Aires ) was an Argentine musician ( pianist , bandoneonist ), band leader and composer of tango .
Life
Alfredo De Angelis, who was a son of the violinist Virgilio De Angelis, began playing the bandoneon at the age of 10 . Soon after, however, he switched to piano.
He was initially a pianist in Anselmo Aita's orchestra . He then joined Daniel Alvarez's orchestra , which from 1936 was called Orquesta Alvarez - De Angelis . At the same time he was a pianist in the Los Mendocinos Orchestra (under the direction of Francisco Lauro ).
In 1941 Alfredo De Angelis founded his own tango orchestra, which, under the name of Alfredo De Angelis y su Orquesta Típica, was one of the best tango formations in Buenos Aires.
Alfredo De Angelis has recorded over 480 titles on phonograms.
