Alfredo Poviña

Alfredo Poviña (born March 18, 1904 in San Miguel de Tucumán ; † 1986 ) was an Argentine sociologist and was one of the very first Latin American sociologists.

Poviña wrote his doctoral thesis Sociología de la Revolución (Sociology of the Revolution ) at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba in 1930 . He was a co-founder and first president of the Asociación Latinoamericana de Sociología .
