Alfredo Vásquez Rivera

Alfredo Vásquez Rivera (* 1965 in Guatemala ) is a diplomat of the Republic of Guatemala.

He is married and has two children.

Education

He holds a degree in Political Science from the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala and later from the Diplomatic School of Madrid and the Rio Branco Institute in Brasilia. He is a graduate of the Center for National Strategic Studies in Guatemala and the Law School of the University of Denver .

Career

In the Foreign Ministry in Guatemala City , he headed the North America department . As second-class delegation secretary, he headed the South America and United Nations Division . He has served as the Embassy Secretary in Brasila, Consul General in Vancouver, Canada, and Consul General in Denver . Alfredo Vásquez Rivera was a member of the Guatemalan Association of Lawyers and Notaries and an assistant professor of international law. He was visiting professor at the Center for National Strategic Studies in Guatemala. From August 2010 to January 2016 he was ambassador to Israel and at the same time accredited to the government in Nicosia .

He speaks English and Portuguese.
