Algimantas Mykolas Dailidė (born March 12, 1921 in Kaunas , † 2015 ) was a Lithuanian member of the Saugumas Security Police . He was on the list of the most wanted Nazi war criminals . After the war he fled to the USA , where he initially worked as a forester. He later worked as a real estate agent until his retirement. He then retired to Gulfport, Florida . When the archives in Lithuania were opened after regaining independence, his membership in the Saugumas became known to the American authorities and his American citizenshipwithdraw. Therefore, he was deported in 2003. From 2003 he lived in Kirchberg in Saxony because his wife of German descent had relatives there.

In 2006, Dailidė surrendered to the Lithuanian authorities. A Lithuanian court accused him of recapturing twelve Jews who had fled the Vilnius ghetto in order to have them executed by the Nazis. He was also charged with arresting two Poles on political grounds. The Lithuanian court sentenced him to five years in prison, but, according to the court, due to his age and since he no longer poses a threat to the population, he did not have to serve his sentence.

He was buried in Spring Grove Cemetery in Medina, Ohio .
