Algis Rimas

Algis Rimas (born November 26, 1940 in Baukai , Radviliškis district ; † August 9, 2010 in Vilnius ) was a Lithuanian politician .

biography

From 1946 to 1950 he learned in Šilaikonys and from 1950 to 1953 in Šnikonys . After graduating from high school from 1953 to 1957 at the Šeduva Middle School , he graduated from the Lietuvos žemės ūkio akademija with a degree in mechanics in 1962 . In 1962 he worked for the association "Lietžemūktechnika" in Kalvarija , from 1963 to 1966 in Kapsukas ( Marijampolė ). From 1970 to 1990 he was Kapsukas' deputy. In 1988 he was the deputy mayor of Marijampolė Raion, and from 1988 to 1990 first secretary of the Lietuvos komunistų partija in Marijampolė. From 1990 to 1995 he was chairman of the Council of Deputies of Marijampolė Rajon. From 1995 to 1997 he was the head of Marijampolė District . In 1997 he worked at AB Ūkio bankas and from 1998 to 2000 at AB Lietuvos taupomasis bankas . From 2000 to 2008 he was a member of the Seimas narys.

From 1990 he was a member of the Lietuvos Demokratieinė darbo partija and from 2001 the Lietuvos socialdemokratų partija .
