The AB Ūkio bankas ( German economic bank ) was a Lithuanian credit institution . It was the oldest private bank in Lithuania , was one of the "Top 5" Lithuanian banks and was listed on the Vilnius Stock Exchange, and from December 4, 2006 to 2013 it was also listed in the " OMX Baltic 10 Index" of the Nordic Stock Exchange OMX , the ten largest Contains standard values in the Baltic States (initial weighting 6.05 percent). The company was based in Kaunas and the bank had 41 branches. The insolvency administrator Adomas Audickas held settlement talks with Šiaulių bankas , which assumed the obligations. The debts of Ūkio bankas were 1.1 billion litas (about 319 million euros) higher than its assets.

The chairman of the board was Liutauras Varanavičius . CEO was Edita Karpavičienė , Deputy Chairman was Gintaras Ugianskis. Other board members were Rolandas Balandis, Antanas Grigaliauskas (also director of UAB "Ūkio banko lizingas") and Arnas Žalys .

The main shareholder was the Lithuanian entrepreneur Wladimir Nikolajewitsch Romanow . He currently held almost a third of the shares directly. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ūkio banko investicinė grupė (Ūkio bankas Investment Group) (ŪBIG). The bank also held 19.99% shares in the insurance company UAB Bonum Publicum (share capital is LTL 8.01 million, Ūkio bankas has 1 601 shares) and 24.8% shares in the Lithuanian investment group Ūkio banko investicinė grupė (ŪBIG). Balkan Investment Bank ad Banja Luka , in which Ūkio bankas held 49% and Ūkio banko investicinė grupė 51% of the shares, also belonged to Ūkio bankas group . (As of June 30, 2005)
