Ali Ahmad Popal

Ali Ahmed Popal ( Pashtun علي احمد پوپل; * February 22, 1916 in Kabul ; † November 21, 2004 ) was an Afghan diplomat and politician .

Life

Ali Ahmed Popal studied at the Amani-Oberrealschule and at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg , where he received his PhD in 1942. phil. received his doctorate . From 1942 to 1946 he headed the education department in the Ministry of Education and the Amani-Oberrealschule . In 1947 he headed the teachers' seminar. From 1948 to 1949 he headed the elementary school system in the Ministry of Education. From 1949 to 1951 he headed the education department. From 1952 to 1956 he was State Secretary in the Ministry of Culture. From March 14, 1957 he was Deputy Minister of Education before he was appointed Minister of Education in the government cabinet of Mohammed Daoud Khan in 1958. From March 1963 to July 8, 1964 he was Minister of Education in the government cabinet of Mohammad Yusuf .

From August 1964 to November 1967 he was ambassador in Bad Godesberg . From November 1967 to October 24, 1974 he was Minister of Education in the government cabinet of Mohammad Nur Ahmad Etemadi . From October 24, 1974 to November 11, 1976 he was ambassador to Tokyo .
