Ali Asgar Mammadov

Ali Asgar Mammadov (* 1977 ) is an Azerbaijani tar player.

Mammadov studied at the Bulbul Music School from 1983 to 1994 and at the Baku Music Academy from 1995 to 2001 . His teachers included the tar masters Ramiz Guliyev , Hamid Vakilov and Vamig Mammadaliyev . In 1996, 1997 and 1998 he was a winner of the Azerbaijani Mugham competition.

From 1999 to 2000 he was a member of the Mughamtrio of Alim Qasimov . He worked with him again in 2005, and in 2009 he recorded the album Intimate Dialogue with him, his daughter Fargana Qasimova and Rauf Islamov at the Morgenland Festival Osnabrück . He also performed internationally with Zabit Nabizade and Khayyam Mammadov .

Mammadov is also a member of Yo-Yo Mas Silk Road Ensemble . Since 1998 he has been a soloist in the orchestra of the Azerbaijan Opera and Ballet Theater. Since 2005 he has been teaching at the National Conservatory of Azerbaijan.
