Brent Weeks (born March 7, 1977 in Montana ) is an American author living in Oregon .

Life

Weeks attended Hillsdale College, where she studied English . He worked as a teacher and barman for a short time after graduating, but then decided to fulfill his dream of writing.

Week's first release was the Shadow Trilogy in 2008 . The novel is about Azoth , an orphan boy who is trained to be an assassin by Durzo Blint . The book became a huge hit in the United States. Since then it has been translated into several languages, including German.

Schwarzes Prisma , the first book in the Light series, came out in 2010. The story of Lord Prisma , who can draw his magic power from the full spectrum of light, was originally planned as a trilogy . In 2012 an expansion to 4 volumes was announced. The second and third volumes were published in 2012 and 2015, respectively. In the German translation, the third book, The Broken Eye, was divided into two parts.
