Ali Ghardooni

Ali Ghardooni , actually Alireza Kardooni , (born February 25, 1979 in Ahvaz , Iran ) is a German discus thrower and canoeist. He participated in the 2008 and 2012 Summer Paralympics .

Life

At the age of 17 years Ghardooni began in Iran with the Athletics . In 2004 he emigrated to Germany and moved to Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

At the Paralympics 2008, Ghardooni (starting class: F57) , who was handicapped by polio , achieved fourth place in a seated discus throw. His best performance achieved in 2008 was 46.64 meters. In 2009 he became IWA S world champion. At the 2011 World Championships, he achieved bronze.

He initially started for GBS Haldensleben and then joined SC Magdeburg .

In 2014 he switched to canoeing, Parakanu . At world championships he achieved fifth place once, at European championships he achieved three silver and one bronze medals.

Ghardooni completed an apprenticeship as an office communication clerk and works as a process and transfer manager in the state administration office of Saxony-Anhalt.

Awards

In 2012, Ghardooni was allowed to enter the Golden Book of the City of Magdeburg in recognition of his participation in the Paralympic .
