Alice Englert

Alice Allegra Englert (born June 15, 1994 in Sydney , New South Wales , Australia ) is an Australian actress . She was best known for her role as Rosa in Ginger & Rosa and her portrayal of Lena Duchannes in the American fantasy film Beautiful Creatures .

Life

Alice Englert was born in 1994 to director Jane Campion and film director and producer Colin Englert. She has a younger half-brother named Gabriel.

Her parents divorced when she was seven years old. A year later, in 2001, she made her acting debut in the short film Listen by director Paula Maling. This was followed by her appearance in The Water Diary , a short film made by her mother as part of the film project 8 , at the age of twelve .

She was tutored in New York, London, Rome, New Zealand and Australia, among others, until she dropped out of school to pursue her acting career.

Acting is not Alice Englert's only passion. She is also a singer, songwriter , poet and plays the guitar.
