Aline Terry
Aline Terry (* in the 19th century in Princeton , New Jersey , † after 1894 ) was an American tennis player .
Life
In 1893 she won the American tennis championships in singles against Augusta Schultz in two sets with 6: 1 and 6: 3 and the doubles competition with Harriet Butler against Augusta Schultz and M. Stone in two sets with 6: 4 and 6: 3. In 1894 she reached the final in the individual again, but failed to Helen Hellwig with 5: 7, 6: 3, 0: 6, 6: 3 and 3: 6.
Aside from her two tennis tournaments, almost nothing is known about Aline Terry. By Juliette Atkinson she is described as very slim player that moved on the court like a cat and stretched with long "Tiger jumps" to balls.
