Alix Jaccard

Alix Jaccard (born January 28, 1905 in Sainte-Croix ; † April 7, 1976 there , reformed , entitled to live in Sainte-Croix) was a Swiss politician ( SP ).

biography

Alix Jaccard was born on January 28, 1905 in Sainte-Croix as the son of the musician Paul Jaccard and Bornand, born Julie Marie. Alix Jaccard earned his living as a worker. In addition, from 1957 he held a board member mandate at Saline de Bex SA .

He was married to Madeleine Emilie, the daughter of Gaston Fritz. On April 7, 1976, Jaccard died a few months after turning 71 in Sainte-Croix.

As a member of the Social Democratic Party, Alix Jaccard was a member of the municipal council ( legislature ) of Sainte-Croix. He also officiated 1946-1969 as mayor . At the same time, he sat in the Vaudois Grand Council between 1945 and 1970 . In 1958 he took part in the Reformed Synod as a delegate from the Canton of Vaud. He also sat on the National Council for the canton from 1959 to 1963 . There he was represented in the permanent electoral examination commission. Alix Jaccard finally resigned from his national council mandate in order to concentrate more on the tasks in his community. He also served as President of the Sainte-Croix Metalworking and Watch Workers' Union.
