Allée couverte by Lobo

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Allée couverte of Lobo (also called Lobo (Haut Pinel)) is located in the dense forest of L'Alsace, near Ruffiac , south of Caro in the Morbihan department in Brittany in France .

The approximately 22.0 m long Allée couverte is oriented to the southeast. Six out of ten ceiling tiles are still there, supported by 28 bearing stones in situ (four more have fallen over). A side chamber about six meters long lies on the south side.

In 1887, Charles de La Monneraye (1812-1904) and Jules de Montfort (1841-1908) explored the megalithic complex for the first time. A few years later it was described by Louis Marsille, who considers it to be a special monument in the region with its anteroom, entrance, chamber and side niche.

About 1.0 km away is the Allée couverte du Grand Village and 1.6 km away is the Menhir du Bodel .
