Allan Damgaard Espersen (born April 11, 1986 in Nysted ) is a Danish handball player who plays for the Danish first division team Tvis Holstebro .
Career
Allan Damgaard played for Rødby HK, Mors-Thy Håndbold and Viborg HK before joining team Tvis Holstebro in 2012 . With Holstebro he reached third place in the EHF European Cup in the 2012/13 season . From the summer of 2015, the 1.85 meter tall backcourt player ran for HSV Hamburg, with whom he signed a two-year contract. After HSV Hamburg filed for bankruptcy in January 2016, he joined the Danish club Bjerringbro-Silkeborg . With Bjerringbro-Silkeborg he won the championship in 2016. From the 2017/18 season he was under contract with the German Bundesliga club Frisch Auf Göppingen . In summer 2019 he returned to Team Tvis Holstebro.
Damgaard has played five caps for the Danish national team so far , scoring ten goals.
Private
Allan Damgaard's younger brother Michael is also a handball player and plays for SC Magdeburg .
