The General retail bank AG , in public under the name Allbank occurred, was a German private bank based in Hannover .

Allbank was a pure private customer bank and had up to 120 branches nationwide.

The bank was established in 1950 under the name Niedersächsische Kundenkredit GmbH in Hanover. In 1957 the bank was converted into a stock corporation. In the following years the bank traded under the name Norddeutsche Kundenkreditbank Aktiengesellschaft (NKK Bank).

In 1983 NKK Bank AG merged with WKV Waren-Kredit-Bank GmbH Hanover and Berlin and WKV Kredit-Bank GmbH Frankfurt to form Allbank. As part of the expansion of the Berliner Bank, Allbank then came under the influence of the later Bankgesellschaft Berlin .

Subsidiaries and branches were DSK Deutsche Spar- und Kreditbank AG in Munich (incorporated in 1995), Allkredit in Düsseldorf and Bank GiroTel (sold to ING Diba in 1999 ).

In 2003, General Electric took over 99.82% of the shares in the bank and, following a squeeze-out of minority shareholders, merged it with GE Bank from Cologne . The newly created institute has been operating under the name GE Money Bank since 2004 , whose branches in Germany, Austria and Finland have been merged with the Santander Consumer Bank since July 1, 2009 .
