General military knowledge

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

General troop studies is a subject in military sciences and an area of basic training for all soldiers.

It summarizes topics that are important for all military personnel - regardless of their affiliation to a branch of the armed forces , an organizational area, a type of weapon or range of uses and regardless of their rank - and which are largely regulated by law. They are dealt with with different emphases and depths in the general basic training and in the courses for the training of NCOs and officers .

Using the example of the Bundeswehr curriculum, this includes the sub-subjects / sub-areas:

  • Life in the Military Community
including Soldiers Act , Superiors Ordinance , general daily routine, internal service, troop ID and identification tag
including types of suits, ranks and rank badges
  • Military organization
among other things structure of the armed forces, also cooperation with national and allied agencies and authorities
  • Career and employment opportunities
