Allonzo Brian Trier (born January 17, 1996 ) is an American basketball player who was last under contract with the New York Knicks in the NBA .

career

Trier, who comes from Seattle , Washington state , did not attend school as a teenager, but was taught at home and played for Oklahoma City Storm, a selection of players who are taught at home. In the 2013-14 season he was at the Montrose Academy in Maryland and in 2014 moved to Findlay Prep in Las Vegas for a year . In his last year as a student, he achieved a mean of 26.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.1 basket assists for Findlay Prep per game. At the beginning of August 2014 he announced his decision to study at the University of Arizona from 2015/16 and play for their basketball team in the first NCAA division.

At the university level, he immediately made an impression, in his first season at the University of Arizona he was in the starting line-up 21 times in 27 missions and achieved a total of averages of 14.8 points and 3.3 rebounds per encounter. In the 2016/17 season, Trier was the team's top scorer with 17.2 points per game, ahead of the Finn Lauri Markkanen . While Markkanen before moving on to the professional business, Trier stayed another year at the university and was in season 2017/18 second best thrower: He came in 33 games at an average of 18.1 points per game, before him lay Deandre Ayton 20 , 1 counter per game.

Immediately after the end of the season in March 2018, Trier announced that it would register for the NBA draft process and thus leave the University of Arizona after three years. However, no NBA representative decided to secure the rights to Trier, which he himself described as "shocking". He still made the leap into the NBA: In June 2018 he signed a "two-way contract" with the New York Knicks and scored 15 points on his debut in October 2018 against the Atlanta Hawks . He was released from his contract at the end of June 2020, by then he had averaged 9.7 points per game in New York since the beginning of his NBA time.

National team

In 2014, Trier became U18 American champions with the USA national team and in 2015 World Champion in the U19 age group.
