Almanon is an impact crater on the southeastern front of the moon . It is located southeast of Abulfeda crater and northeast of Geber . The Catena Abulfeda runs east of it . The crater rim is heavily eroded.

The crater was named in 1935 by the IAU after the Abbasid caliphate Abdalla Al Mamun (786-833).
