Alois Bucher

Alois Bucher (born December 19, 1860 in Buochs , † July 30, 1941 in Stans , resident in Buochs) was a Swiss banker and Catholic-conservative politician .

Life

Alois Bucher was on December 19, 1860 Buochs, the son of a farmer and Governing born Peter Bucher. After attending elementary school, Bucher was initially employed on his father's farm before joining the cantonal savings and loan fund in Nidwalden as an assistant.

In 1890 Alois Bucher took over the management of the bank, which had been renamed Nidwaldner Kantonalbank . Under Bucher's aegis, the Nidwaldner Kantonalbank developed from the "back room institute" to the leading banking company in Nidwalden with a correspondingly dominant administrative building on the village square in Stans.

Alois Bucher married Marie, the daughter of Kaspar Josef Alois Wyrsch, in 1884. He died on July 30, 1941 at the age of 81 in Stans.

Political offices

Alois Bucher, member of the Catholic Conservative Party, was elected to the government council of the canton of Nidwalden in 1901 , of which he was a member until 1910. Subsequently he held the office of district administrator from 1917 to 1919 .
