Peter Alois Dietrich (born April 5, 1860 in Innerbraz , † May 31, 1938 there ) was an Austrian politician ( CSP ), farmer and community treasurer. From 1905 to 1914 and from 1918 to 1919 he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament and from 1901 to 1936 mayor of Innerbraz.

Alois Dietrich completed compulsory school and then worked as a farmer. He was also the community treasurer in Innerbraz.

Politics and functions

Dietrich was a member of the Christian Social Party and was also involved as a member of the Catholic workers' association. He was President of the Catholic Workers' Association between 1898 and 1904 . Dietrich also worked as an appraiser in rail expropriation cases. Dietrich was involved in local politics in his home parish of Innerbraz for several decades and was sworn in as a member of the Innerbraz town council in 1895. From 1895 to 1901 he also held the function of the community treasurer in Innerbraz and in 1901 took over the function of community leader. Dietrich subsequently directed the fortunes of his home community Innerbraz until his death in the role of community leader.

In addition to his involvement in local politics, Dietrich was also active in Vorarlberg state politics. He ran in the state elections in 1902 for the Christian Social Party in the constituency of the rural communities for the constituency of Bludenz-Montafon and was sworn in on October 19, 1905 as the successor to Johann Josef Bachmann as a member of the state parliament. He was a member of the state parliament until 1919, although the state parliament was not convened between 1914 and 1918 after the outbreak of the First World War. Dietrich was sworn in as a member of the provisional Vorarlberg state assembly on November 3, 1918 and remained its member until the end of the provisional state assembly on June 16, 1919. During his time in the state parliament, Dietrich was a member of the Agriculture Committee and a member of the Petitions Committee.

Alois Dietrich was born as Peter Alois Dietrich in Innerbraz near Bludenz. He was the son of the farmer and former headman Josef Anton Dietrich (1831–1900), who was also born in Innerbraz. His mother Maria Magdalenazazilia Dietrich (1830–1895), née Mähr, saw the light of day in Auserbraz. Alois Dietrich married Maria Regine Elisabeth Weber (1862–1932), born in Satteins , on February 11, 1895 in Braz , although this marriage remained childless.
