Alois Gossi

Alois Gossi (born November 26, 1927 in Rechnitz ; † January 7, 1997 in Oberwart ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and federal civil servant. Gossi was mayor of Rechnitz, a member of the Burgenland State Parliament and from 1982 to 1986 member of the National Council .

Life

After compulsory schooling, Gossi attended three classes at the teacher training institute and then learned the profession of bricklayer from 1949 to 1951. He also completed the technical and commercial evening school of the Chamber for Workers and Salaried Employees between 1950 and 1952 and was a contract employee and after completing the civil service high school diploma in 1958 works as an official at the Oberwart employment office.

Gossi joined the SPÖ in 1951 and held various internal party functions in the SPÖ. He was local party chairman in Rechnitz, district chairman of the SPÖ Oberwart as well as a member of the state party executive committee and the state party presidium. In addition, Gossi worked as a deputy chairman of the Burgenland Association of Municipal Representatives and from 1958 as a member of the municipal council of the market town of Rechnitz. Gossi also represented the SPÖ from 1970 to 1982 in the Burgenland state parliament , was mayor of Rechnitz between 1973 and 1989 and a member of the National Council between January 20, 1982 and December 16, 1986.
