Karl Iskraut

Karl Friedrich Wilhelm Iskraut (born March 1, 1854 in Steinhöfel , † 1942 in Naumburg ) was a Protestant pastor and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Iskraut was a pastor in Kemnitz and moved to Bielefeld in 1890 . Between 1892 and 1898 he lived in Gohfeld , then he was assistant preacher in Berlin . In 1900 he moved to Krössuln and in 1924 he retired in Naumburg. He was particularly conspicuous in agitation against social democracy and the Jews. In 1891 he achieved particular fame as a "stick pastor" through the so-called Spenger battle , when 1500 "Christian farmers" violently blew up a social democratic assembly. After that, he was mainly active in political anti-Semitism with lectures into old age.

From 1895 to 1898 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Kassel 4 ( Eschwege , Schmalkalden , Witzenhausen ) and the German Social Reform Party .
