Culture and sights

Trinity Church in Kistritz

The highest and most important building in the community is the Trinity Church in the district of Kistritz with its twisted and “leaning” neo-Gothic tower that can be seen from afar, a nave built from 1690 to 1696 and a baroque pulpit altar by Johann Balthasar Stockhammer. In the part of the old fortified church, the sacristy, there was a valuable winged altar, which is now on loan in Naumburg. On the occasion of its upcoming 300th anniversary, the Trinity Church was extensively renovated by 1996.

Other structures

  • Church in Krössuln
  • Half-timbered houses, farmhouses and mansions
  • Memorial plaque in Krössuln for the dead of the world wars

Regular events

  • Whitsun beer and the spring festival of the volunteer fire brigade always take place over the Whitsun holidays, carnival events and the Christmas market in Krössuln, which always takes place in the first week in December.

Economy and Infrastructure

Several wind turbines and the “Osterfeld” rest area on both sides of the A9 as well as the Sperhake car repair shop are important. Otherwise the village is characterized by agricultural use.

The federal highway 9 runs west past Krauschwitz; the next junction is Naumburg (No. 21 a), about 4 kilometers south. The Krauschwitz (Teuch) stop on the Naumburg – Teuchern railway line has not been served by local rail passenger transport since December 2011.
