history
The village was first mentioned on February 28, 1135 . Various secular and spiritual rulers owned the place. According to a description in a document from Margrave Dietrich von Landsberg from 1278, part of the place belonged to the highly penal Naumburg castle ward of Schönburg , from which the office of Schönburg developed in the late Middle Ages . Another part of Gröbitz belonged to the Lords of Bünau zu Teuchern , who served as ministerials under the bishops of the diocese of Naumburg . Half of the place was still under their jurisdiction in 1545.
While the possessions of Gröbitz located within the Schönburg district fell into desolation , the manors and possessions outside the Burgward district with the village mentioned in a document in 1451 remained. These belonged to the Wettin Office Weissenfels , with whom she since 1547 to Albertine Electorate of Saxony and between 1656/57 and 1746 to Albertine Sekundogenitur -Fürstentum Saxe-Weissenfels heard. By the resolutions of the Vienna Congress Gröbitz 1815 came to Prussia and in 1816 the county Weissenfels in the administrative district of Merseburg of the Province of Saxony assigned to which he belonged until 1944th
On July 1, 1950, the previously independent community of Schmerdorf was incorporated.
From the city of Teuchern and the municipalities of Deuben, Gröben, Gröbitz, Krauschwitz, Nessa, Prittitz and Trebnitz, the unified municipality of Teuchern will be formed by law on January 1, 2011 . With the formation of the new city, the city and the communities involved will be dissolved.
