Later Püschel was employed in the so-called "rocket shoe factory" in the purchasing, materials management, calculation and technology departments. In 1977 Püschel acquired a farm property in Krauschwitz , which initially meant starting work as a milker at LPG Stüßen. From 1982 to 1990 he found a job as a development engineer in the Leuna works . In 1990 Püschel founded a retail business in Krauschwitz. In the same year he was elected full-time mayor there. He was then mayor of the Krauschwitz community again from 2001 to 2010, this time on a voluntary basis.

Political activity from 2010

Change from the SPD to the NPD in 2010/2011

In December 2010, Püschel announced that he would run for the NPD against the SPD candidate Rüdiger Erben , State Secretary in the Ministry of the Interior of Saxony-Anhalt, in the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt in 2011 . He anticipated a threatened exclusion from the party by leaving the SPD. As it became known from later published e-mails, the change to the NPD had been planned for a long time. In order to make optimal use of the media's attention, Püschel initially withheld his intentions and wrote an NPD-friendly letter to the editor on November 9, 2010 as a deliberate provocation of his party and the public. At this point he was already in contact with regional NPD functionaries. Only after the expected echo in the SPD and the media did he declare his intention in December 2010 to run for the NPD. The NPD failed in the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt on March 20, 2011 just under the five percent hurdle .

Exclusion from the district church council in 2011

The district church council of the church district Naumburg-Zeitz withdrew his mandate as a member of the parish council of Teuchern , since the candidacy for the NPD was incompatible with the honorary office of a church elder.

Removal from mayor's office in 2013

In the 2011 elections, Püschel was confirmed in the office of mayor by the voters. However, three years later, on May 8, 2013, he was removed from his office as mayor after he published right-wing extremist texts on the Internet. Püschel failed in September 2013 with a lawsuit against the suspension before the Magdeburg Administrative Court . The court saw "civil service obligations such as loyalty to the constitution and the requirement of moderation in political views" as necessary for honorary local mayors.

Holocaust denial litigation

On October 1, 2013, the Weißenfels District Court sentenced Püschel to a fine of 3,000 euros for incitement to hatred because he had published texts on the Internet that denied crimes against the Jewish population during the Nazi era . The judgment was confirmed by the Halle regional court in summer 2014 . Püschel appealed on a revision. In addition, Püschel should pay a fine of 24,750 euros to the Sachsen-Anhalt Media Authority (MSA) for the publication of relevant content that is harmful to young people on the Internet . In August 2016 it became known that the Naumburg Higher Regional Court had overturned the regional court's judgment in October 2015 and acquitted Püschel of the charge of sedition. The court had given its judgment no national significance. Patrick Bahners described this judgment as a "scandal, moral and technical".

Member of the district council

Püschel is still represented as a member of the NPD in the district council of the Burgenland district. In March 2016, Püschel caused a scandal with a speech given in the district council. According to many members of the district council, he insulted refugees and put the Holocaust into perspective again. District Administrator Götz Ulrich (CDU) then announced a criminal complaint and had the minutes of Püschel's speech forwarded in full to the Federal Constitutional Court .

Journalistic activity

Püschel is a columnist on the website KOMPAKT-Nachrichten, which describes itself as “non-party” (slogan “… we speak German!”), Which is run by the publisher Nationaler Bildungskreis Ltd. registered in England . is operated.
