The Diocese of Teófilo Otoni ( Latin Dioecesis Otonipolitana , Portuguese Diocese de Teófilo Otoni ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Teófilo Otoni in the state of Minas Gerais .

history

Pope John XXIII founded it on November 27, 1960 from cession of territory by the diocese of Araçuaí and subordinated it to the archdiocese of Diamantina as a suffragan diocese .

On March 28, 1981, it lost part of its territory to the diocese of Almenara .
