The diocese of Santo Amaro ( Latin Dioecesis Sancti Mauri , Portuguese Diocese de Santo Amaro ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Santo Amaro in the state of São Paulo (Brazil).
history
The diocese of Santo Amaro was established on March 15, 1989 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Ea in regione from cession of territory to the Archdiocese of São Paulo and subordinated to this as a suffragan diocese. Fernando Antônio Figueiredo, OFM , became the first bishop . He was followed on December 2, 2015 by Giuseppe Negri PIME , who had been coadjutor bishop since October 29, 2014 .
