Jörg Dittwar (born August 1, 1963 in Stadtsteinach ) is a former German soccer player and today's coach .

Career

Dittwar began playing football in the club at the local TSV Stadtsteinach. The trained painter later switched to SpVgg Bayreuth . For the first team, he played 157 games in five years and scored 14 goals. The service provider of Upper Franconia turned down an offer from FC Schalke 04 in 1985 . In the same year, the Bayern league team was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga . Dittwar was able to gain first experience in professional football. However, one got relegated after one season. Dittwar then played another year with Bayreuth in the Bayern League.

The SpVgg rose to the second division again this season, but Jörg Dittwar moved in 1987 to the Bundesliga for 1. FC Nürnberg, also from Franconia . He established himself in the team without any teething problems and with good performances moved into the field of vision of the national team . An injury prevented an appointment for the 1990 World Cup squad and Dittwar was without an international match. He was active as a player for the FCN until the spring of 1994 and then had to end his professional career due to a previously sustained knee injury. The best placement he achieved with the "Club" was a fifth place in the table in the 1987/88 season. He took part with his club in the UEFA Cup the following season . There, however, it was over after the first round (2: 1 and 1: 3 afterwards against AS Roma ).

According to his own admission, he preferred to play the libero position, but he was also often used as a man marketer.

Dittwar initially worked as a youth coach at 1. FC Nürnberg, later he worked for amateur clubs as a coach (TSV Scheuerfeld, assistant coach at TSV Gerbrunn ), player (TSV Burkersdorf, FSV Unterleiterbach) and player -coach (TSV Stadtsteinach).

Since April 2009 he has been the national coach of footballers with intellectual disabilities (ID).
