Giuseppe Negri

Giuseppe Negri PIME ( pt. José Negri ; born September 18, 1959 in Milan ) is an Italian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Santo Amaro .

Life

Giuseppe Negri joined the religious order of the Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions , made his profession on December 7, 1985 and the Archbishop of Milan , Carlo Maria Cardinal Martini SJ , ordained him a priest on June 7, 1986 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on December 14, 2005 auxiliary bishop in Florianópolis and titular bishop of Puppi . The Archbishop of Florianópolis, Murilo Sebastião Ramos Krieger SCI , donated him episcopal ordination on March 5th of the following year ; Co- consecrators were Carlos Pedro Zilli PIME, Bishop of Bafatá , and Wilson Tadeu Jönck SCI, Auxiliary Bishop in São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro . As a motto he chose SUFFICIT TIBI GRATIA .

On February 18, 2009 he was appointed Bishop of Blumenau .

Pope Francis appointed him coadjutor bishop of Santo Amaro on October 29, 2014 . With the age-related resignation of Fernando Antônio Figueiredos OFM on December 2, 2015, he succeeded him as Bishop of Santo Amaro.
