Rafael Biernaski (born November 1, 1955 in Curitiba , Paraná state , Brazil ) is a Brazilian Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop of Blumenau .

Life

Rafael Biernaski entered the Archbishop's College in 1968 and the Queen of the Apostles seminary in 1975. He studied philosophy at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná and theology in the "Studium Theologiciúm" of Curitiba. He received on 19 December 1982, the sacrament of Holy Orders .2007 he was for a doctorate at the Pontifical Gregorian University doctorate in Rome. Rafael Biernaski was Vice-Coordinator of the Liturgy Commission in the Archdiocese of Curitiba , Spiritual of the College of São José and worked in Mexico in the training of educators in seminaries before he was called to the Roman Curia, where he worked in the Bishops' Congregation in the Vatican. He belongs to the diocesan priests from the Schoenstatt Institute .

On May 4th 2011 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . the titular bishop of Ruspae and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in Curitiba . The Archbishop of São Salvador da Bahia , Geraldo Majella Cardinal Agnelo , donated him episcopal ordination on July 1st of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Curitiba, Moacyr José Vitti CSS , and the Archbishop Emeritus of Curitiba, Pedro Antônio Marchetti Fedalto . As auxiliary bishop of Curitiba, he was most recently diocesan administrator in Blumenau.

On June 24, 2015, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Blumenau . The inauguration took place on August 29 of the same year.
