Alois Jung

Alois Jung (born December 28, 1946 in Ulrichsberg ) is an Austrian lawyer . From 2005 to 2012 he was President of the Linz Higher Regional Court .

Life

Alois Jung was born in 1946 in the Upper Austrian municipality of Ulrichsberg in the Rohrbach district. His parents ran an inn and a small haulage company there. After completing school at Wilhering Abbey High School , he studied law at the University of Vienna . After his court year at the Aigen-Schlägl district court , he worked as a district judge in Freistadt and Unterweißbach for three years . Many years followed at the regional court and later at the Linz public prosecutor's office . In 1993 Jung became a judge at the Linz Higher Regional Court , where he held the position of Vice President from 1997 until he took over the office of President from his predecessor Helmut Hubner in 2005, which he held until 2012.

During his tenure, Jung repeatedly advocated the amalgamation of district courts.

In 2013 he was awarded the Golden Decoration of Honor of the State of Upper Austria .
