Alois Kimmelmann

Alois Kimmelmann (born June 21, 1886 in Oberbalbach , today Lauda-Königshofen , † April 13, 1946 in Bad Mergentheim ) was a German teacher and politician of the SPD .

Life

After attending primary school in Oberbalbach and the preparatory school in Tauberbischofsheim , Kimmelmann trained at the Catholic teachers' college in Ettlingen from 1902 to 1905 . He practiced the profession of teacher first in Karlsruhe and later in Pforzheim . He took part in the First World War as a reserve officer. From 1926 to 1929 he was a lecturer in general teaching at the Karlsruhe teacher training college. He then served as the Karlsruhe city high school supervisor before being deposed in 1933. After the Second World War he was appointed Ministerialrat and head of the department for elementary schools in the state commissioner for culture and teaching in the Baden state administration. In the course of his life he also wrote various texts, including on the school system.

In 1919 Kimmelmann joined the SPD, six years later he founded the Reichsbanner Schwarz-Rot-Gold in Pforzheim. From 1921 he sat on the board of directors of the Badischer Lehrerverein, after the war he participated in the re-establishment of the FSVO, which later became part of the education and science union . In 1946 he was appointed to the provisional parliament for Württemberg-Baden for the SPD , to which he belonged until his death.
