Alois Mattersberger

Alois Mattersberger (* 1961 in Matrei in East Tyrol ) is an Austrian cook and painter .

Life

After completing his cooking apprenticeship (1976 to 1979), he worked as a chef in various top restaurants in Germany and abroad. In 1989 and 1990 he cooked his first Gault Millau toque in the newly opened "Vinarium" restaurant in Donnerskirchen in Burgenland . From 1990 he was significantly involved in the concept and implementation of the "Villa Hans Moser" restaurant in Vienna . His commitment was rewarded with two toques from Gault-Millau, one star and three kitchen crowns from "Austria a la Carte". After studying nutrition for ten semesters at the University of Vienna, Alois Mattersberger appeared in 1999 as a cook and presenter in Austria's first daily cooking show ("Freshly cooked is half won") on ORF . After more than 800 programs, he handed over the program in 2003. Since 2004 he has decided to turn his hobby painting into his profession and cooking into his hobby.
