Scholban Valerjewitsch Kara-ool ( Russian Шолбан Валерьевич Кара-оол ; scientific transliteration, Šolban Valer'evič Kara-ool ; born July 18, 1966 in Choduraa , Tuvinian ASSR , RSFSR , Russian politician. ) Is a Russian president of the Soviet Union Republic of Tuva .

biography

Kara-ool studied philosophy , political science and sociology at the State University in Sverdlovsk . He speaks the German language .

From 1996 to 1998, Kara-ool served as vice chairman of a humanitarian aid fund supporting the families of the dead, disabled and veterans of the Afghan war . In April 1998 he was elected Member of Parliament, then Deputy Chairman of the Great Churals (Parliament) of the Tuva Republic.

In the presidential elections in 2002, he came in second with 22 percent of the votes received. Until 2005 he held various ministerial posts, including Minister for Trade, Consumer Services and Business Development of the Republic of Tuva.
