Alois Schätzle

Alois Schätzle (born August 30, 1925 in Kollnau ) is a former German CDU politician .

education and profession

After elementary school and business school, Alois Schätzle completed an apprenticeship as a retail salesman at Kaufhaus Fleiner. From 1946 to 1954 he was a commercial clerk and then until 1957 a buyer for a raw materials wholesaler.

Political activity

Schätzle joined the Junge Union in 1949 and the CDU in 1953. From 1954 he was a member of the social committee of the Christian-Democratic workforce . From 1958 he was State Social Secretary and from 1971 District Social Secretary of the CDU South Baden. On October 18, 1971, he replaced Albert Höfflin in the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg . From 1972 to 1988 he was directly elected member of the state electoral district of Emmendingen , member of the CDU parliamentary group committee and from 1974 chairman of the petitions committee.

honors and awards

In 1987 he was honored with the Great Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. On April 27, 1991 he was awarded the Baden-Württemberg Medal of Merit . In 1992 Pope John Paul II named him Knight of the New Year's Eve.

Family and private

Schätzle is a Roman Catholic, married and has three children.
