Alois Stiplosek

Aloïs Stiplosek (German : Stiploschek ) (born April 3, 1872 in the village of Rasgor near Maribor , Slovenia; † August 13, 1956 in Antwerp ) was a pacemaker and aviation pioneer.

In standing races he set the pace for Paul Guignard and Arthur Vanderstuyft (around 1906).

Life

In 1904 he married Jeanne De Swaef and lived in Berlin-Johannisthal. In 1911 he went with his wife to the flight school of Louis Blériot in Pau and received the flight license No. 591 of the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale - France on September 8th . Mainly on a Jeannin steel dove, he took part in numerous aerial shows and competitions in Germany and Austria. During World War I he was a field pilot in the Austrian army. He tested prototypes from Österreichische Flugzeugfabrik AG , surviving various accidents.

When he opted for Yugoslav citizenship after the Treaty of Versailles , he had to leave Austria and followed his wife and daughter to Belgium.
