Alois Wierlacher

Alois Wierlacher (* 1936 in Wuppertal ) is a German specialist in German.

Life

After receiving his doctorate ( The bourgeois drama. Its theoretical foundation in the 18th century ) at the University of Bonn in 1964 and his habilitation ( From eating in German literature. Meals in narrative texts from Goethe to Grass ) in Heidelberg in 1982, he taught from 1983 to 1984 as Professor of Modern German Literature with a focus on German as a Foreign Language Philology at the University of Hamburg and then as Professor of Intercultural German Studies at the University of Bayreuth .

His main research interests are intercultural German studies, literary studies, culinary studies, foreignness and tolerance research, intercultural communication and science research.
