Arneb (from Arabic الأرنب, DMG al-arnab  'the rabbit') is the name of the star α Leporis in the constellation Rabbit .

Arneb has an apparent magnitude of 2.6 mag and is a supergiant of the spectral class F0 Ib. So he has the same class as Canopus .
