Alpha Tiger was a German metal band from Freiberg in Saxony.
history
Alpha Tiger was founded in 2011 from the stylistically very similar sounding predecessor band Satin Black, which had existed since 2007, but still appeared in a slightly different line-up. Under this name, the debut album Harlequin was released as an in-house production. A demo followed in 2010 .
In early 2011, the band renamed themselves Alpha Tiger and signed a record deal with the independent label Sonic Attack Records , which released their debut album Man or Machine on CD and vinyl in April . The debut album was recorded in collaboration with Karl-Ulrich Walterbach , founder and former operator of Noise Records . The rest of the year followed appearances as support for bands like Sepultura , Gamma Ray or Majesty , before Alpha Tiger played at the Rock Hard Festival and Hellfest in France in summer 2012 . In September 2012, the band announced that they would release their third album in January via the Century Media label, with which the group has already signed a contract. A European tour by Alpha Tiger has also been confirmed in the support program of WASP for October and November .
In 2013 an extensive festival tour followed. The band played at the following festivals, among others: Up the Hammers in Athens, Metalfest in Poland, Basinfest in the Czech Republic, Rockharz Open Air , Bang Your Head , Wacken Open Air , Heavy Sound Festival in Belgium, Distortion Fest in the Netherlands, Hard Rock Hell in Wales. At the end of 2013 Alpha Tiger also played in the opening act for some shows for the US band Queensryche
In 2014, the band split from Century Media and signed a record deal with SPV for the album iDentity , which was released in early 2015 . The band is represented with the song Men Or Machines in the film Wacken 3D . Shortly after the release of iDentity , singer Stephan Dietrich announced his departure from the band. He was succeeded by Benjamin Jaino, who is also the 2017er Album Alpha Tiger einsang .
At the beginning of September 2018, the band announced their breakup, the farewell concert took place on November 17, 2018 in Dresden.
style
Alpha Tiger played a mix of Speed Metal , Power Metal , Heavy Metal and New Wave of British Heavy Metal . The high vocals as well as the guitar work played a decisive role. Occasionally the band has been compared to Iron Maiden .
