Alphonse Huillard-Bréholles

Jean Louis Alphonse Huillard-Bréholles (born February 8, 1817 in Paris , † March 23, 1871 ) was a French historian.

Huillard-Bréholles was professor of history at the Lycée Charlemagne from 1838 to 42 , then devoted himself to archaeological studies, became section head at the State Archives, in 1868 a foreign member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences , in 1869 a member of the Académie des inscriptions et belles-lettres . He died on March 23, 1871.

He wrote:

He published a French translation of Matthew Paris ( Grande chronique de Matthieu Paris , 1840–41, 9 vol.) And the large, particularly valuable document for the history of Sicily, Historia diplomatica Frederici secundi (1852–61, 12 vol.) Costs denied by the Duke of Luynes , as well as Chronicon Placentinum et chronicon de rebus in Italia gestis (1857).
