Alphonse Martin (organist)
Alphonse Martin (born February 18, 1884 in Trois-Rivières , † June 6, 1947 in Montreal ) was a Canadian organist , pianist and music teacher .
Live and act
Martin was a student of Lévis Dussault . He taught piano and organ in Montreal , was on the board of directors of the Conservatoire royale de musique and organist at St. Mary's Church . His students included Rodolphe Mathieu and Hector Gratton .
In some concerts Martin appeared together with his wife, the organist Corinne Boisvert (1887–1961). The couple had seven daughters. Four of them, Gilberte (1910–1999), Marcelle (1917–2005), Magdeleine (1921–2015) and Raymonde (* 1923), became active as musicians and music teachers.
