Alpirsbacher Klosterbräu Glauner GmbH & Co. KG is a brewing company in Alpirsbach in the Black Forest.
history
The company was founded in 1877 by Johann Gottfried Glauner by buying what was still known as Löwenbrau at the time, thereby reactivating the former monastery brewery. In 1880 the company passed to Carl Albert Glauner. In 1906 the name was changed to Alpirsbacher Klosterbräu. The company was and is continuously owned by the Glauner family, who are now the fourth generation to run the private brewery. The management consists of the managing director Markus Schlör and the owner Carl Glauner as well as three authorized signatories.
The Alpirsbacher Klosterbräu Glauner GmbH & Co. KG produces and distributes beers. In addition, the company takes over and manages investments in industrial and trading companies.
It employs around 85 people, has an annual turnover of 22 million euros (2014) and brews 200,000 hectoliters per year. The seat and only production site is Alpirsbach.
A special feature of the brewery is a special pipeline which connects the spatially separated brewery (brewhouse) with the fermentation and storage cellar and the bottling plant .
