Attractions
The most important sights in the Altas Montañas de Veracruz area near Orizaba include:
- Cascada del Elefante y los 500 Escalones
- The "Elephant Waterfall and the 500 Steps" are located on the eastern city limits of Orizaba on the other side of the outer ring of Carretera Federal 150 , which connects the Mexican capital with the port city of Veracruz . The waterfall , which measures between twenty and thirty meters depending on the source, was given this name because its shape resembles the head of an elephant. - The “coal canyon ” is located west of Orizaba near Nogales . It extends over a length of eight and a half kilometers, in which there are gorges between 100 and 450 meters deep, as well as various waterfalls, tunnels and rocks.
