Alt-Zabrze
Alt-Zabrze was a place in Upper Silesia . Alt-Zabrze was one of several places from which the rural community of Zabrze emerged in 1905 , which was renamed Hindenburg OS in 1915 and received town charter in 1922 .
history
The place was first mentioned in 1295 in the Liber fundationis episcopatus Vratislaviensis as "Sadbre" and "Cunczindorf". The Schrotholzkirche was built in 1546. With the establishment of a colony in 1776, which was later given the name Klein-Sabrze, the place was henceforth called Alt-Sabrze (from the middle of the 19th century with the spelling Alt-Zabrze). In 1783 the place, which at that time belonged to Mr. von Wilczek, had 34 farmers, six gardeners, 32 cottagers, a manorial farm, two mills, a Catholic church, a school and 305 residents. In 1818 the place, which was then written as Sabrze and belonged to Ujester Halt, had 34 farmers, six gardeners, three cottagers, a farm, a Catholic school, a Catholic church and two water mills. From 1853 to 1857 the Donnersmarckhütte was built near Alt-Zabrze. This also led to a rapid increase in the number of residents and cottages. The farming village was subject to urbanization. In 1865 the place consisted of a manor and a church village and had 32 farms, ten gardeners and 155 cottages. The manor belonged to Count Guido Henckel von Donnersmarck from Neudeck. At that time, the Catholic school had 650 students and four classes and the Donnersmarckhütte employed 150 workers. With the establishment of the district of Zabrze in 1873, Alt-Zabrze came from the district of Beuthen to the district of Zabrze and became the seat of the district administration.
With effect from April 1, 1905, the municipality of Alt-Zabrze was combined with the municipalities of Klein-Zabrze and Dorotheendorf and the Zabrze manor district and the colony C (from the municipality of Zaborze ) to form the new municipality of Zabrze . In 1915, the municipality was renamed Hindenburg OS. With the founding of Hindenburg on October 1, 1922, Alt-Zabrze became part of the city center. The former Alt-Zabrze formed together with Klein-Zabrze from now on Hindenburg-Nord .
