The Altai Seidelbast ( Daphne altaica ) is a plant type from the genus Seidelbast ( Daphne ) and belongs to the family of Thymelaeaceae .
features
The Altai daphne is a shrub that reaches heights of 40 to 80 (120) centimeters. The leaves measure 2.5 to 6.5 × 0.7 to 1.5 centimeters and are bare on both sides. The flower tube is sparsely silky-haired. The ovary is bare. The fruit is yellowish red.
The flowering period extends from May to June.
Occurrence
The Altai daphne occurs in shrub steppes in Central Asia and West Siberia.

The Altai daphne is rarely used as an ornamental plant for rock gardens and heather gardens. The species has been in culture since 1796.
